Spending Independence Day at Naples Grande Beach Resort, on the paradise coast is a memorable addition to any July 4th celebration. There are so many things to do at the resort and in the surrounding areas, you and your loved ones will be delighted to return next year.
Independence Day Events in Naples
Cities across the nation will be merrymaking on July 4, and Naples, FL is no exception. With free activities all day, you won’t have to go far to find some patriotic flair. Annually, Naples presents a parade in the morning, a family-friendly party in late afternoon, and a 25-minute firework display in the evening.
The Naples Independence Day Parade is massive, lasting over two hours from 10AM to noon. Starting at 3rd Street South and Broad Avenue South, the parade travels North to 5th Avenue South, East on 5th Avenue South, and South on 8th Street South, ending at 8th Avenue South and 8th Street South.
Collier County Parks & Recreationwill host the annual Independence Day Party and Ice Cream Social from 4-6PM in Sudgen Regional Park. Family activities will continue until 8:30PM.
Naples visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets by 9PM to the Naples Pier, Naples Beach, Lowdermilk Park or Sugden Regional Park for a fantastic fireworks viewpoint. Tune into 101.1 FM during the show to hear music choreographed to the display. To skip the crowds, watch the fireworks live. If your favorite part of Independence Day is the firework displays, stick around the beach after the show to catch private parties setting off fireworks long into the night.
Things to Do at Naples Grande on July 4th
At the main resort, as well as the golf & tennis club, you’ll find a variety of regularly occurring entertainment choices and unique activities you can enjoy on the 4th.
Take an Adult Tennis Clinic from a PBI Tennis Professional at the Tennis Center. These classes are available every day of the week from 9AM-10AM Monday through Thursday and 10AM-11AM Friday through Sunday for 2.5+ level players. Advanced registration is required, call (239) 594-6033 to sign up.
Start your Independence evening off right with a toast! Head over to The Catch of the Pelican for Happy Hour, Sunday through Thursday from 5PM-7PM. You can sample some of their tasty locally sourced seafood and yummy cocktails from their Bar Bites menu. Other popular places for celebratory drinks are Mantra, the resort's lobby lounge, and the Sunset Veranda, an open-air lounge with a fire pit. Stop by either location on Fridays from 5PM-9PM to partake in their #BubbleQ Happy Hour, featuring Veuve Clicquot champagne and hot bbq.
Independence Fun Just for Kids
Kids activities at the resort are specifically tailored to entertain and provide a break from the heat. At the Mangrove Pool, kids can make and decorate their own frisbee, participate in a watermelon eating contest, and grab a tasty gelato.
Miromar Outlets has free all-day Fourth of July crafts for kids to enjoy while you tackle that essential vacation shopping.
Conservancy of South Florida holds a free admission day every July 4th. Come tour nature trails, the learning center and wildlife hospitals. Learn about the 55,000 acres of Everglades and natural water flows the organization works to protect.
For some structured fun, the Norris Center provides two art-themed camps for kids July 2, 3, 5, and 6. The Not So Edible Art Summer Camp allows kids to create delicious looking art like candy and sundaes. The Masks and Disguises Summer Camp affords kids a chance to learn paper mache mask making and decorating.
Events in the Surrounding Cities
Naples’ neighbor, Estero, provides one-of-a-kind events on July 4th. Get your day started off right with the USA Independence Day 5K walk/run beings at 7AM at Germain Area. This event welcomes all ages of competitors and families are encouraged to challenge themselves side by side. Each competitor receives a dry-fit tech shirt, awards are given to the first 5 finishers in every age group, and all finishers receive a medal.
Koreshan State Park offers a guided tour of the Historic Koreshan Settlement, a 19th century pioneer collection of structures and gardens. You can also rent a canoe or kayak to tour the to tour Estero Bay.
Star Spangled Bonita presents an Independence Day celebration with a parade, live entertainment, watermelon and ice cream eating contests, fireworks and a laser light show display. The kids amusement area is a particularly unique draw for families and includes a water slide, bouncy house, slip-n-slide, amusement and train rides, face painting and more. The festivities with a parade at 9AM and continues at 4PM in Riverside Park, 10451 Old 41 Road, Bonita Springs.
Red, White & Boom is Cape Coral’s annual Independence Day celebration. This year, country singer Jerrod Niemann headlines with supporting acts Sheena Brook and Jacob Davis. The free festivities in downtown Cape Coral start at 5PM and include vendors, kids entertainment, and a fireworks display.
Fort Myers’ parade begins at 10AM travels along Estero Boulevard from Sea Grape Plaza to Times Square. WINK Freedom Fest also takes place that evening downtown from 4PM to 10PM. It features fireworks, a chili-dog-eating contest, live entertainment, kids activities and a patriotic car show with cars decorated in red, white and blue style.
