Learn about eco-friendly practices and experiences at Naples Grande Beach Resort

A kayak on top of the water in the Everglades

Towering mangrove trees, pristine beaches, wildlife-rich waterways—it’s easy to see why Naples Grande Beach Resort is an ideal getaway for nature lovers. With its breathtaking location along the biologically rich coastal habitat of Clam Pass Park, a 200-acre mangrove estuary, resort guests are just steps away from experiencing Florida’s natural beauty. The resort is also just an hour’s drive from Everglades National Park, a 1.5 million-acre stretch of wetland that is home to endangered wildlife and tropical plants.

In an ongoing commitment to preserve these delicate environments, Naples Grande Resort is proud to utilize an array of eco-friendly practices to conserve resources, from energy-saving light bulbs and low-flow fixtures to numerous recycling programs. The resort also has partnered with The Everglades Foundation, dedicated to protecting and restoring the ecosystems of the Everglades, and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, which advocates for the preservation of the region’s land, water and wildlife.

Experience these diverse ecosystems for yourself as you join a volunteer naturalist from Conservancy of Southwest Florida for a free guided nature walk through Clam Pass Park. You’ll stroll along a 0.6-mile boardwalk beneath a canopy of mangrove forests, learn about the indigenous flora and fauna, and spot wildlife such as butterflies and shorebirds as you make your way to the white-sand beach at the end of the boardwalk. These free, two-hour nature walks are offered Monday through Saturday, December through April, only with advanced reservations. Tours meet at 8:00 a.m. at the tram stop gazebo near the beginning of the boardwalk. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, sunscreen and a hat.
Advanced Reservations only, no walk-ups.  Please contact 239-734-1132 or email [email protected] to reserve your spot on the nature walks.
